Trekking to Uryam

Uryam (5355 m) in Kyrgyzstan is a beautiful mountain hike among granite pointed peaks in the Pamir-Alay mountains. This area of the Turkestan Range is known for its stunning landscapes reminiscent of South American Patagonia, only the climate in Asia is warmer, more stable and comfortable for long hikes.

Young high mountains, bizarre juniper forests, turbulent rivers and kilometer-long rock walls, immense space and fresh wind, bringing aromas of pine needles, green meadows and lack of civilization — this beautiful painting is painted by the best artist in the world — nature itself.

Our 7 days program

1 Day
Early arrival in Osh. Moving to the village of Uzgarysh. Meeting at the airport. Moving to the village of Uzgarysh, the starting point of our hike. Uzgarysh is a typical mountain Kyrgyz settlement with an established centuries-old way of life. The locals are friendly and hospitable. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Accommodation and night in a guest house Nuridin.
2 Day
Valley of the Laili-Mazar River, confluence with the Uryam River. Travel time: 6–7 hours. At the beginning of the day, our path runs through apple and apricot groves. Closer to noon, the gorge narrows and the trail passes through the canyon of the Laili-Mazar River to the confluence with the Uryam River. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Night in tents.
3 Day
Laili-Mazar — Uryam River. The valley of the Uryam River. Travel time: 6–7 hours. Turning into the valley of the Uryam River, we move along beautiful alpine pastures and wooded slopes. Then, having overcome a steep climb and passed a bottleneck in the gorge, we get into the upper, very picturesque wide valley. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight in tents.
4 Day
Radial route to the upper Uryam River. Travel time: 5–6 hours. Today we will make a one-day radial hike to the upper Uryam Valley, one of the most picturesque valleys in the region. On the way, we will enjoy stunning views of the rock walls of the canyon, a beautiful waterfall and fragrant flowering meadows. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight in tents.
5 Day
Uryam Pass (3760 m) — valley of the Ak-Mechet River. Travel time: 6–7 hours. The crossing of the Uryam Pass (3760 m) is one of the most spectacular moments of the route. A comfortable trail and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains accompany us throughout the day. The pass overlooks Parus Peak (5037 m) and Sabah Peak (5283 m). After descending from the pass, we set up a camp overlooking the grandiose northern wall of the Aksu peak (5355 m). Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Night in tents.
6 Day
Descent along the valley of the Ak-Mechet River to the village of Uzgarysh. Travel time: 7 hours. Green meadows, alternating with arch forests, clean streams and upwarding peaks determine the picture of the final day of the hike in the valley of the Ak-Mechet River. In the village of Uzgarysh, we are waiting for the final festive dinner with oriental hospitality. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Accommodation and night in a guest house.
7 Day
Transfer Uzgarysh — Osh (350 km, 7–8 hours). After breakfast in a hospitable Kyrgyz house, we go on a return trip to the city of Osh.

The cost of the trip includes:

1. Transfer of the city Osh — v. Ozgorush — Osh
2. Accommodation in a guest house v. Ozgorush (night before the hike, and night after)
3. Meals throughout the trip
4. The work of conductors including escort by a local conductor
5. Registration of passes for visiting the border area with Batken region and Leilek district
6. Payment for the work of drivers and rental of asses for the transfer of products, public equipment and part of the participants' personal belongings (up to 5 kg) throughout the campaign
7. Products on the route from local shepherd families (milk, kaymak, kurut, meat, etc.)
8. Hotel accommodation in the city of Osh after the hike (one night)
